Carrots Kingdom
Chapter 24
Dark kitty found that Eric had been looking at all the things he had done, he shyly asked.
"How was the meal?"
"It was great"
having answered to his question, Eric found that this dark kitty didn't have the fish sword around his waist.
"You had eaten my sword."
The Dark kitty laughed.
"What?" Eric asked and did a funny face.
"It's a joke. I used to work as a knight before, but, thrown it away."
"Why ?" Asked Eric.
"We had many hard times like missing food."
I thought having the sword was helpless as it can not feed people."
He laughed.
Eric had thought of his past while seeing this Dark kitty is being hugged by the children.
There was this reason.
It was a story which happened long time ago to him.
In the old time, he used to belong to a group of warriors in the Rabbit Empire which existed quite far away from this land.
He had the sharp iron sword in place of the current carrot one.
Maybe his character also must have been different from now.
When this Rabbit Empire got made a decision to attack the Little Puppy Empire which had been always its rival, the tragedy got happened.
It only hurt the innocent babies and mothers of both sides who were not completely related to the fight.
Even if some made a decision to start a fight, those people in the same kingdom
don't have the power to fight.
Each kingdom can have the certain amount of power to fight back, after all, mostly those innocent people get damaged.
Whichever started first, the result might have been the same.
It looked like they were hurting those innocent people in the name of justice in his eyes.
He thought so hard for many days if this was the ideal behavior to keep his dignity and pride as a knight.
What he wanted to do was to protect those innocent people, and, never to hurt them, even if they got belonged to the enemy kingdom.
Some said he was weak or bad, but, he decided to drop his iron sword for his ideal justice, which was to protect the people.
And, now, what he had in his hand was the sword made of carrot.
He didn't have any reasons to hurt any innocent people.
Or, he didn't need super power only to make someone think different.
Carrots are carrots.
However, he had kept having the certain dignity and pride as a knight.
Eric found this dark kitty had the same state of mind like he had possessed.
This dark kitty wanted to protect those children.
