Moon In the Lake

Introduction

This story begins in the beautiful forest where people were allowed to step in.

The forest was known for the beautiful lake at the center and various colors of different flowers and trees.

These brought peace to visitors.

1

Masha, Alyosha and Katya were good friends.

When they were walking together in the evening, they saw something was shining in the forest.

“What's that?” Alyosha asked surprisingly.

“Let's go.” Katya said.

Masha nodded.

They started to walk toward the light.”

2

Amazingly, the moon was floating in that lake.

“The moon!” Katya cried out.

“Why are you here?” Alyosha asked.

“I couldn't sleep and fell down to the earth.

I have to go back to the sky by midnight for my job.

But, I am too weak to fly.”

The moon replied.

“So, strange. Okay, we will help you.”

Katcha said.

3

They attached colorful balloons everywhere around the moon so as to make her fly again.

Blue, red, yellow, violet, and so on.

One by one, the moon felt lighter and happier.

4

“I feel much lighter.

Thank you so much.

Before I go back to my job, I want to do something for you.

What can I do?”

The moon asked.

Children thought hard and said.

“Some friends are not allowed to go out due to the sickness. We want to say how they are important to us.

At least, if we could see for a short time and say ‘Hello’.”

5

The moon said in a delightful tone.

“I have a good idea.

You write a letter for your friend.

You can put flowers too.

Blue, red, yellow, violet, and so on.

All of these are so beautiful.

Then tell me once you finished it.

I will take you nearby and you pass it to your friend over the windows.”

“Really? Will you take us?”

Children got excited and asked.

“Of course.” The moon replied delightly.

“Thank you so much.” Children said.

They took a pen.

“We all finished.”

10 minutes later, they said in a happy voice.

Katya chose a red flower, Alyosha chose a blue flower, and Masha chose a violet flower.

And, they put the flower into the envelope.

“Alright. Come and ride on me.”

The moon responded.

Once they rode on her she flew in the sky.

“Beautiful! We are like birds!”

Various colors of streetlights were seen.

Blue, red, yellow, violet, and so on.

All of these were so beautiful.

They flew like birds and travelled to the other country over forests, rivers, and the sea.

It was a great trip for them.

6

The first one was Katya.

Her friend lived in a different country.

Being lightened by the moonlight, she left her letter in front of the window and said to her friend.

“You know what? I love you always no matter how we couldn't see easily.”

“I thought I would never see you again. Thank you so much.”

Her friend said in tears.

The second one was Alyosha.

His friend lived in the seaside. Being lightened by the moonlight, he passed his letter to his friend and said the same.

“You know what? I love you always no matter how we couldn't see easily.”

“I had never forgotten about you. Thank you so much.”

His friend said in tears as well.

The last turn was Masha.

But, she showed a sad face and said,

"I wrote a letter to my mother, but I can’t pass it to her."

Masha had lost her mother due to the sickness.

Besides, due to the pink hair color which was so different from others she was treated badly by the classmates.

She was missing her mother so much who used to be always with her.

The moon said.

“Okay, leave it to me.”

Masha was confused to hear that, but said ”Yes,”

and passed her letter to the moon.

The time for the moon to go back to the sky was coming.

They had become attached to the moon like their close friend, and started to miss her so much.

“Please tell me about your world.” Masha said, holding the body of the moon.

The moon smiled and nodded.

Children sat down on the ground and listened silently.

“My world is called space. There are various colors of stars over there.

Blue, red, yellow, violet, and so on.

All of these are so beautiful.

We are all different and live far away from each other but we are friends.”

“Then what is your job?”

They asked.

“My job is to spread lights to everyone regardless of the people or countries on the earth.

You can see me often in the sky, correct?”

The moon answered and looked at the sky.

”Some humans may make differences in color.

But, there are no differences in love as you kindly picked up different colors of balloons for me to fly and flowers for your friend to show your heart.

Like you must have probably noticed tonight there are various colors even on the earth.

Blue, red, yellow, violet, and so on.

All of these are so beautiful.

I have to go.

It was nice to see you.

I love you always no matter how we couldn't see easily.”

The moon returned to the sky splashing lots of lights in an elegant manner.

They kept watching until the moon was fully mingled among stars.

“Thank you so much.” Children said.

“Masha, we are all alone and different but we are friends.

Besides, I like your hair color very much..”

Katya said.

“Thank you.” Masha smiled and said in a happy tone.

That night, Masha had a wonderful dream.

Her mother showed up in her dream and told her, embracing her so tightly.

“Thank you for a beautiful letter.”

“Mom! You know what? I made friends.

They are all kind and nice to me.

We are going to the forest to sketch flowers next weekend.”

Masha said.

Her mother gave a huge smile and said.

“I love you always no matter how we couldn't see easily.”

“Yes me too.”

Masha responded in her arms.

Soon, Masha woke up and looked at the night sky.

The moon and stars were divinely shining as if her mother was whispering to her.
